Casa Grande competing to build neon sign park

Casa Grande needs your vote to build a neon sign park downtown.

“What better way to light it up and create the ambiance that will draw people," said Casa Grande Main Street Executive Director Rina Rien.

The city's Main Street and Historic Preservation Commission are competing against 24 other cities across the country for up to $150,000 in funding.

Casa Grande's is the only Arizona project in the competition, put on by American Express, National Geographic, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Partners in Preservation and Main Street America. Voting ends on October 31st; the top ten projects will win.

“Because we are a civic nonprofit, we don’t get many opportunities for funding these days,” Rien said.
